The AI Act Service Desk will be an information hub with simple, straightforward information on the application of the AI Act and the possibility to receive targeted answers to questions. It will include the European Commission’s Single Information Platform, as foreseen in the AI Act, which will provide online interactive tools to help stakeholders determine whether they are subject to legal obligations and understand the steps they need to take to comply.

The AI Act Service Desk will also allow stakeholders to submit questions to the AI Office on the AI Act. The call for tender being launched today aims to establish an external team that will be part of this AI Act Service Desk. This team will closely work with the AI Office on addressing questions raised by stakeholders.

The AI Act enhances public trust in technology while providing investors and entrepreneurs with the legal certainty needed to scale up and deploy AI across Europe. The Commission is committed to support a smooth and effective roll-out as the AI Act progressively starts to apply until 2 August 2027.

The tender is open for submission until 19 May 2025, 16h00 CET.

Next steps

The AI Act Service Desk will be launched in summer 2025 and accompany the progressive entry into application of the AI Act’s obligations until August 2027, with the possibility of extension of its services until 2028 if necessary. With the support of an external contractor, a dedicated team will provide timely responses in all EU languages to questions submitted via an online platform being currently developed by the Commission.

The AI Act Service Desk is part of the Commission's AI Continent Action Plan launched on 9 April 2025.
